
Gregory Riebel, MD
Dr. Riebel has been providing orthopedic and spine care to the residents of Southwest Virginia for over
ten years. He strives to provide the best possible care through operative and non operative methods.
He has received several awards for patient care and will bring that expertise to you. He has been
trained and certified in all aspects of orthopedic and spinal surgery. You will be pleased with every

Dr. Riebel has published many articles, and has written or co-written book chapters related to Orthopedic and spine treatments of disease and trauma. The journals in which he has had publications include: Spine, Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Orthopedics, The Journal of Arthroplasty, and The American Journal of Emergency Medicine.
The treatments that Dr. Riebel offers include comprehensive spinal care, and general orthopedics. This
means that initially, if appropriate, non operative methods will be offered. If interventions are necessary
Dr. Riebel has experience in all types of orthopedic and spinal surgery. The cervical spine procedures
often employed include cervical disc surgery. Lumbar surgery
is common for degenerative conditions including herniated disc and sequellae of arthritis. Dr. Riebel
specializes in certain types of general orthopedic surgery including minimally invasive total hip
replacement, and other joint surgery. Dr. Riebel strives to provide minimally invasive techniques if
appropriate, and, in fact, the majority of his procedures are minimally invasive at this time.
